Ken Block | Gymkhana 7 Drifting a 1965 Mustang in LA

Gymkhana 7Ken Block is back with quite a surprising car this time, an all wheel drive, 6.7 liter Rouch Yates V8 Mustang from 1965 producing 845 hp and 720 lb.-ft of torque! The car just looks mad! Probably the most bonkers Mustang ever built and he is drifting the shit out of it on the streets of LA playing around with cops and other low riders. The project has been achieved with the collaboration of Vaughn Gittin Jr and his RTR team. “This is hands-down the best Gymkhana car I’ve had yet,” said Ken Block on an interview with Top Gear a couple of weeks ago. The drifting isn’t as impressive as in the previous videos with the all mighty Fiesta to be honest. We are used to much crazier stunts and jumps from Mr.Block! But enough talking for now! Enjoy the show!!

Abdo Feghali vs Mohammed Al Attar | Red Bull Failaka Showdown!

Abdo Feghali vs Mohammed al Attar

Our Lebanese drifter and rally icon, the one and only Abdo Feghali aka Dado has been featured in the brand new RedBull Failaka Showdown video doing what he does best! This time his drifting action has been filmed and directed by professionals as he races against the free runner Mohammed Al Attar in the Kuwaiti island of Failaka. The video of the Two Red Bull Athletes going head-to-head is perfectly directed, filmed and executed. Believe me, no random videos go on the RedBull Youtube channel with its 3,791,030 subscribers! But the main question remains: Will the trainers outrun the tires?

Castrol Footkhana: Neymar Jr. v Ken Block

KenBlack FootkhanaIt ain’t anymore just about burning rubber and avoid walls, some balls have been added to the equation! 2014 FIFA World Cup star Neymar Jr. & his freestyle team take on Gymkhana king Ken Block in his 650-HP Ford Fiesta rally car in a battle between man and machine creating what they call Footkhana, a mix of football and Gymkhana. As Neymar and his freestyle teammates use their football skills to score goals, Ken and his overpowered Fiesta drifts, blasting soccer balls into the net. Well it is not as impressive as what we are use to with Ken but it is a nice and fresh new idea. Very smart move by Castrol sponsoring the match, regrouping in the same video, the YouTube phenomenon Ken Block and FIFA World Cup star Neymar Jr. & his freestyle team targeting not only football fans but car fans as well. The complete videos got more than a 8 million views in just 3 days.

Gymkhana 6 GoProAs carfreaks, you must have seen the Ken Block’s Gymkhana 6 by now. If you haven’t check the KenBlock Category of TheAdsGarage ASAP!! Here below is the same Gymkhana filmed entirely with a couple of brand new GoPro Hero3+ and edited by GoPro themselves. Not only it is an awesome way for GoPro to advertise their new born and prove, once again, that it is the most versatile camera you can buy but also, an Epic way of letting us enjoy that last Gymkhana in a bunch of new angles. Ken Block Gymkhana 6: The Ultimate Gymkhana Grid Course

Ken Block Gymkhana 6TheAdsGarage is back right on time to share with you car freaks, the brand new Ken Block Gymkhana 6 video. With his modified AWD Fiesta ST sports 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, good for a claimed 0-60 mph in 1.8 seconds, Kenny is ready to burn some rubber. This time, the goal was to design the Ultimate Gymkhana Grid Course. In addition to the usual tight turns, the course features new obstacles including a wrecking ball, a pair of moving Lamborghini Aventadors, and more. The result is not as impressive as the last gymkhana in San Francisco and what the hell are those plastic thingies on his front wheels? Gymkhana Six incorporates elements from Need for Speed Rivals such as video-game themed Redview County cops on Segways. Block is indeed the new Racing Advisor for the Need for Speed franchise. Will this mean that Rivals will feature a Gymkhana course or Ken’s Fiesta? We’ll have to wait until November the 22nd for the official release of the game! For now, enjoy the show! Feel free to check the rest of Ken Block’s Gymkhana videos by clicking right here.

Fastest Vehicle Drift at 217.93 km/h

Fastest drift in the worldWith the mind blowing speed of 217.973 km/h, Kuba Przygoński has just set the new Guinness World Record for high-speed drifting! The magic happened on a military airport in Biała Podlaska – Poland. The ORLEN Team member, behind the wheel of a massive Toyota GT86 with 1068 horsepower under the bonnet, reached the average speed of 217.97 km/h with controlled skidding and the maximum slip angle of 49 degrees. Entry speed 256km/h, drift speed 217km/h. The GT86 has been known since its launching for its drifting capabilities thanks to its very low centre of gravity (Feel free to check the review of the GT86 and Subaru BRZ by clicking here). Add to it about 868hp and you got yourself a Guinness World Record breaking machine! Abdo Feghali (Professional Lebanese rally driver) you better beware, judging by that thing he drives, I think Kuba is going for the longest drift record very soon.

Drifting with Abdo Feghali, NOT

RedBull CarPark drift[Updated] Get ready people, the most amazing event of the year, The RedBull Car Park Drift is happening this Saturday in Lebanon, at the Fouad Chehab Stadium in Jounieh. It’s a huge and pure drifting event in which finalists will be selected with regards to the amount of smoke generated by the car, its noise, its beauty and the length of the drift. Since RedBull is one of the most amazing brands I have ever encountered, they contacted me last week to let me know that I would be riding with the craziest, Guinness World Record holder (check the video below) and most famous Lebanese Rally driver, Abdo Feghali a.k.a. Dado. The tour was gonna take place during the qualifiers on Friday July 5, around the Fouad Chehab stadium in Jounieh. Like this wasn’t enough, RedBull gave me a media pass so I can take the best pictures and videos of the event. A dream that was just too good to be true.

IMG_7660Last Saturday I was partying when a discoball fell out of nowhere on my head. The discoball was 1,6 meters in diameter and fell from a distance of 7,5 meters. It not only broke 2 of my neck’s vertebrae, but also my dream of riding shotgun with Dado. I have a collar around the neck that I am not aloud to remove for the next month a half. So RedBull, I wanna first of all thank you so much for the opportunity you gave me and second of all apologies cause I won’t be able to attend the event 😦 Hope you guys enjoy it!!

DiscoRedBull

[Updated] So you might ask yourself what was the response of RedBull to that incident. The answer: A super unique, custom made DiscoRedBull!! How awesome is that?!

GT86/BRZ Club Road Trip

BRZ DriftingAfter a long absence, TheAdsGarage is back with a freshly backed category, a new Youtube account and new Instagram account. How is that for a comeback!! A couple of weeks ago I was invited to a gathering with the GT86/BRZ club. We met up on the Marina Dbayeh, waiting for the late comers, then we hit the road, destination, Wardeh Faraya, the most typical destination for all Lebanese road trips. We all know what happens when a bunch of cars reach Wardeh, Drifting time! The trip was really nice there was good cooperation between the drivers, we had lots of fun and burned a lot of rubber 😀 Thank you very much for the invite guys! You can check the rest of the pictures by clicking right here. Special thanks to Mario Yacoub for editing the video here below.

GT86-BRZ rear viewRegarding the cars, I can assure you that the GT86 and the BRZ are almost, totally similar. Mechanically speaking the cars are exactly the same, they feature the same 2.0-liter boxer four-cylinder motor delivering 200 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. They are both fitted with the same Manual or Automatic gear box. The suspension and springs settings are very similar, the BRZ is a bit firmer (better for the track) and the GT86 is slight softer resulting in some extra oversteer for drifting action. This can be only felt when the car is pushed to its very limits. The only differences I spotted were the LED lights on the front bonnet, the seats fabric, the dashboard in front of the passenger seat that features a cool design in the GT86 that is not available in the BRZ and I found the standard radio in the GT86 much more appealing than the BRZ one. Price wise, the Subaru costs $46,000 while the Toyota costs $40,000 (both including VAT and registration taxes).

GT86 BRZThe GT86/BRZ, is easy to drive, it is steady in corners, thanks to the 50:50 weight distribution and its very low center of gravity. You won’t be expecting any surprises entering the corner at high speed. The interior doesn’t look cheap, it has proper finishing. Its exterior design is cool as well is really looks like a sports car to have fun with. The only problem I had with the car was its power, it really lacks of it!! Going up the mountain roads the GT86/BRZ had some troubles over-passing cars at high speed. It just needed that small extra boost. Maybe a small turbo could do the job? or an Intake with a map would be enough? Anyway, I would definitely get the Toyota, the Subaru is really not worth that extra 6,000$. I would use that extra 6,000$ to equipped the GT86 with extra ponies 🙂

Mad Mike drifting Crown Range in New Zealand

Mad mike on Crown RangeMad Mike competes in two pro drift spec Mazda cars. All over the globe and every time he is behind the wheel and initiates his high speed drift he still experiences that same rush of adrenaline that keeps him hooked. He recently conquered the Crown Range, New Zealand a road composed of 47 corners, 1076 metres elevation, 10.4km long, one of the most demanding and technical drives of the country. For the first time the mystic road has been closed for only one man, Mike Whiddett. Mike was able to pull sixth gear along the Crown Terrace and winds the Mazda RX7′s 750 horsepower engine out to its redline hitting a max speed of 240km/h on those slippery and tricky mountain roads. A couple of slow motion cameras, some Go Pros, a helicopter and a big filming crew and BAM the greatest ride of all time has been written in history. (The Behind Scene video is linked below as well) Red Bull I salute you for sponsoring such amazing people!
