After launching a teaser (which you can access by clicking here), MINI finally released the full video of there attempt to achieve a backflip in a MINI! They used the over modified super light MINI JCW Coutryman rally car for the stunt. It was driven by Chicherit, a world champion freestyle skier and champion rally driver. He completed the jump in Tignes, France. The suspension was modified in order for it to be able to absorb the chock of the landing. MINI claims to have achieved the first unassisted backflip in the world. By “unassisted” they mean that nothing was used to help the car rotate. Impressive!
Well this is not exactly a MINI commercial, it is a SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) advertising campaign in collaboration with MINI. The mission of this association is to “encourage the humane treatment of all animals and to prevent cruelty being inflicted upon them”. The campaign is superb and very well executed. Three dogs were chosen according to their size and behavior to become “driving dogs”. After only a few weeks of training, the three dogs were up to the task!
With the Olympics starting at the end of this month in London, MINI released this commercial promoting its special edition MINI London 2012 models. These special models will feature a unique set 17-inch alloy wheels and will be available in three colors, Chilli Red, White Silver and Lightning Blue. The MINI was born in Britain and, even though it has German owners now, I think it will always remain a British car.
After the Italian Job, Mini is introducing a Special Edition of the new MINI Coupe: The Chinese Job edition. VW was the last sponsor of the tightest parallel parking competition that was won by the German Ronny Wechselberger who parked a VW Polo in a space measuring 26cm longer than that of his car. It is now in the hands of Han Yue, a Chinese driver who park drifted a MINI Cooper S in a space bigger by 15 cm than that of his car. Check out this IMPRESSIVE video!!
