Huyndai Superbowl Commercial: Team

SantaFe 7 seater

Very nice and fun commercial for Huyndai’s 2013 Big game commercial. The idea is nice, the execution is brilliant and it is no secret that it is its 7 seater feature that draws first and foremost our attention in this commercial. Regarding the SantaFe it is the high end 4×4 of the lot. The GLS limited edition features a 3.3 liter V6 delivering 290hp and 252lb-ft of torque. The Less powerful edition, the Sport 2.0T is equipped with a 2.0 liter turbocharged V4 delivering 264hp and 269lb-ft of torque which is more that enough to drive your big family anywhere and in any weather condition. The new interior design of this SantaFe looks really good it is neat and clear and luxurious. Thumbs up to South Korean car manufacturers!!

Ram Superbowl Commercial: The Farmer

ram pick up truck

After Jeep promoting their partnership with the United Service Organizations (USO), Ram is promoting the farmers with this two-minutes spot over the beautiful speech by the famous radio broadcaster Paul Harvey, “God Made a Farmer.” The photos featured in the video are breathtaking showing the hard and rough work that farmers go through every single day. Even though this is a very lazy execution for a superbowl commercial, it is a nice advert that many will appreciate.

The Ram 1500 has a 3.6-liter V6 delivering 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. It is the typical massive American truck. It features an 8 speed automatic with AWD. What do I think about it? Why would buy that heavy, fuel thirsty truck when you can get an indestructible Toyota Tacoma or the more powerful Thundra.

Jeep Superbowl Commercial: Whole Again

Wrangler superbowl commercial

Oprah Winfrey opens this years Jeep superbowl commercial with these words “We wait. We hope. We Pray. Until You’re Home Again,”. The first part of the commercial depicts families going through their lives waiting for the loved ones who are out in military missions. It is only in the last few second of the spot that the 4×4 appears honoring the partnership between Jeep and the United Service Organizations (USO). Very symbolic and moving commercial. Good job.

Regarding the Jeep, it was covered several times on TheAdsGarage, you can access the previous post by clicking here. About it, it’s new 3.8 liter V6 delivers 285 hp 260 lb-ft.of torque more than enough to climb any mountain. It obviously has AWD. TheAdsGarage attended an event with a group of off road freaks. Wranglers were obviously here to have some fun. You can check the pictures by clicking here. A stock Wrangler had no problem going through the snowy mountain. It was really impressive. The new Wranglers are becoming better and better on rough terrain while becoming aesthetically more appealing from inside and outside.

Audi Superbowl Commercial: Prom

Audi Superbowl 2013

Discouraged, no date on his prom night, his dad hands him the keys of his all new 2013 S3. The courage grew in the heart of the kid as he drove it to prom where he kissed the prom queen and got his ass kicked. Thus the slogan “Bravery is what defines us”. And because no super bowl spot can be without a hashtag these days, this one has #braverywins. Well I find that very lame specially for a superbowl commercial. I mean there is a TV show, “the transporter” in which a driver just drifts the 8 class all over the place to make sure that a package guests delivered on time. They could just have taken some footage from the show and it would have made a better superbowl commercial!!

Other than that, about the S6; it features a detuned version of Audi’s S8  twin-turbo 4.0 liter TFSI V8. Well maybe the engine is detuned but it delivers 420 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque which makes this sedan reach 100km/h in just 4.8 sec. Stunning performance and such a stunning car. Being the small sister of the S8 it has a lot of luxury materials inside the habitat like leather on the seats as well as on the steering wheel. It has adaptive air suspension for a more comfortable drive. In two words, what Audi calls “sporty elegance”.

VW SuperBowl Commercial: Get Happy!

Beetle happy

For this year, VW dropped the Darth Vader thing that they focused on the last two years and opted for a more happy commercial. As for the previous superbowl commercial, the new Beetle is the star of the ad. It features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder engine producing 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque. This is the same engine that is used for the golf GTI. A Beetle R is being worked on it will most probably be equipped by the same engine that will be tweaked and tuned a bit in order to deliver a couple of extra ponies. For now the Beetle Turbo has really turned from a girls car (with its flour vase that was standard) to a guys car. It’s design has really evolved. Would I’ll buy of of those? Well I think the Beetle still has that girl spirit in it. It would need a couple of years before being accepted by the masculine community.

For the ad, it is a very happy and fresh commercial, I really had a smile on my face at the end of it. The beetles front grill, is sort of smiling at you! Well in this world of chaos and stress and work, we all need a smile from time to time to peace-out  🙂 be happy!!

Kia SuperBowl Commercial: Space Babies

Babies kia sorento

Like every year, babies are the stars of superbowl commercials. For this Big Game, Kia is answering one of the first embarrassing questions that a child asks his parents, Where do babies come from. A typical conversation that occurs when a family is reunited in a car. This time the answer was quite elaborate. The Kia Sorento, an AWD 7 seater, featured in this video is available with a 3.5 liter V6 engine delivering 276 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. The output power is more than enough to take your kids to the beach on a Saturday afternoon or take them skiing on a Sunday morning. The car looks fine, the ride looks comfy, the new materials used in the car look really good not cheap at all. Kia has really done some amazing improvements to its range of products in these last couple of years. The big advantage of being a South-Korean brand is the price, around 25000$ only! A German 7 seater costs at least three times as much.

Mercedes SuperBowl Commercial: Soul

CLA 250 Race

For this years Big Game, Mercedes decided to feature its most recent creation, the CLA 250. This gorgeous four doors coupe will feature a 2.0 litre in line 4-cylinder engine delivering 208hp and 258 lb/ft of torque. It will be available in front wheel drive, the AWD edition will be released later on this year. A sportier version, the CLA45 AMG, will be released celebrating the 45th anniversary of Mercedes. It is said that it will feature a twin turbo charged edition of the in line 4 delivering around 320hp. Looking forward. I love this car it’s design is amazing. The wonderful front grill will be also featured in the Class A AMG hatchback.

For this commercial Mercedes are focusing on the cheap price of this new smaller version of the CLS. The main idea behind the commercial is: Why would you sell your soul to the devil to get everything you ever wanted when you can have it at just 29.999$. The idea is not very innovative but the execution is well done. Usher, Kate Upton and Willem Dafoe are featured in this commercial. Why? It is a Big Game commercial!

Hyundai Commercial: Cheetah

Hyundai Veloster TurboHyundai’s Turbo Veloster has been on the streets for quite some time now. I find that this turbo version was a must. There was like a “disagreement” between the Velosters looks and its power outcome when the 1.6 liters V4 138hp version was released. This time though, the Turbocharged 1.6 liters V4 is up to the task with its 201hp. The Veloster has now its place in the Hot Hatch market. Let’s see if it’ll be able to become a reference in this target market. This superbowl commercial is a good way to show the power capabilities of this new born of Huyndai. Check the Veloster Grim Reaper commercial right here.

Toyota Camry: “It’s Reinvented”

Toyota CamryIntroducing the Reinvented Camry SuperBowl commercial. It is offered in two choices of engine, a Base one powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 178 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque and a 3.5-liter V6 generating 268 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. With this new design the Camry is moving back up to be a top choice for a midsize sedan. Both models are only available with front wheel drive and automatic transmissions. Regarding the ad, I find it meaningless. The insight behind the ad is really not clear.

Chevy Commercial: Superbowl 2012

This is the Camaro 2012 convertible commercial that was shown during the 2012 superbowl night. I drove the RS version of the Camaro and I must say it was amazing. You really feel like driving a muscle car: the car is large, it’s rear wheel drive, the power and the noise it delivers is amazing. Its look is so aggressive specially at night with the beams on. AND you can get a Transformers, yellow edition of one of those!!
