Honda | The OtheR Side, a Double Sided StoRy

honda_the_other_sideI can guaranty that this commercial will blow your mind, so be prepared! Honda, with the collaboration of Wieden + Kennedy London have created an incredible and unique way of promoting the new Civic and it’s sportier version, the Civic Type R. For this, they came up with a “double-sided story” on YouTube. While watching the video above, you can press and hold the “R” button on your keyboard to switch between both very interesting lives of a middle aged dad. Both videos are synced beautifully, scene by scene, second by second. This perfectly interactive advertisement/short film is directed by Daniel Wolfe. The commercial clearly portrays the two very distinct sides that the Civic can have in a very new and interesting way, pure magic!

Honda-Civic-Type-R-Concept-II-at-Paris-Motor-Show-2014-6Regarding the new Civic Type R, it has quite an aggressive look, with that massive rear spoiler and four exhaust tail pipes. Don’t know if you guys liked it but it is not my type of design. I saw it live at the Paris Motorshow, and I felt that it was too “out there”, like it was just out of Pimp My Ride or something. Engine wise, no official figures or specs have been disclosed by Honda so far but it looks like it is going to be equipped with a 2.0-litre i-VTEC turbocharged engine. It is actually the first time a Type R has a turbocharger under the hood. For now it will only be released with a 6 speed manual gearbox that is going to be handling around 280hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Honda is looking to built another even wilder version of this Type R as Seat did with their extreme Leon Cupra and Renault with their Magane 265 RS cup. They are actually chasing after the front-wheel-drive lap record at the Nurburgring race track with their new born. Well, best of lucks!

The Jaguar C-X75: 850hp and Co2 Emissions of a Prius

Jaguar C-X75 Front“Our challenge was monumental: we needed to achieve the performance of a Veyron; the range of a Volt; and the CO2 of a Prius,” said Jaguar C-X75 manager Rob Atkin. After the introduction of LaFerrari by Ferrari and the P1 by Mclaren, it is now Jaguar’s turn to reveal their secret weapon. They called it the C-X75, a concept they have been cooking for around 2 years now, celebrating the 75th anniversary of Jaguar. The result? The most technological advanced production car in the world. This new master piece is a hybrid that has around 850 hp and 750lb-ft of torque, the result of a combination between a Turbocharged and Supercharged 1.6 liter 4 cylinder engine delivering 500hp revving up to 10,300 RPM (YES you read it right) and 2 electric motors generating around 350hp. The petrol engine alone is delivering 313hp per liter, which is 60% more than any road car available in the market today. This massive amount of power will be delivered by all four wheels to the road through a 7 speed manual gear box. The Co2 emission of this beast are comparable to the ones o a Prius, the hybrid that Toyota has been producing for the past couple of years.

Jaguar C-X75 BackEven though it is a production car, Jaguar announced that it not for sale for the time being so don’t expect to see any of these on your local roads soon. Its design is just brilliant, the grey, matte finish looks amazing. The overall look of the car is crazy but not too crazy, the rear diffuser is just massive and the front end looks “deja vu” it has a Ford-ish aspect to it don’t you think? With this car revealed, we should be expecting mind blowing techs in the next generation Jaguar production models. Looking forward!

Audi Commercial: 2000 Decisions a second.

Introducing the new a Audi A6 bi-turbo Diesel. The A6 a V6 3.0 bi-turbo engine that delivers up to 313 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. It of course features the amazing quattro four wheel drive system. This A6 is the most technology advances Audi created so far. So advanced that it can take up to 2000 decisions a second. This ad clearly features some of the awesome new technology gadgets and sensor that the A6 includes.

Toyota Commercial: “Babes ‘N’ Donuts”

Scion IQAfter a long absence due to personal issues, I’m back with a really crazy ad. Introducing the Scion IQ by Toyota. The first question you are probably gonna ask yourself after watching this ad is WTF is this thing?! Well the IQ is a really small city car, actually the smallest four-seater car in the world. This is the competitive advantage that the IQ has over its mini-cars competitors. The aim of this video is mainly to show that this small car actually fits four adults people. They did this by releasing not one but four ads including: “Dudes n’ Donuts,” “Bikers n’ Donuts” and “Police n’ Donuts” ,emphasizing even more the fact that their tiny car fits four people. This weirdness in ads makes me think of the Old Spice Shampoo commercial that was released a few years ago. The ad really created a buzz. Hope the IQ ad will be as successful.

Chevy Commercial: Superbowl 2012

This is the Camaro 2012 convertible commercial that was shown during the 2012 superbowl night. I drove the RS version of the Camaro and I must say it was amazing. You really feel like driving a muscle car: the car is large, it’s rear wheel drive, the power and the noise it delivers is amazing. Its look is so aggressive specially at night with the beams on. AND you can get a Transformers, yellow edition of one of those!!
