Volkswagen Commercial: The Cabrio.

Remember how the cars you had the most fun in never had a roof? This is the new commercial for the 2012 Golf Cabriolet. It’s just a golf but with no roof on. It’s going to feature the same engine range as the normal golf going from the 1.4 turbo to the GTI 2.0 Turbocharged engine that delivers 211hp. I didn’t really like this new idea of golf with no roof. I find the original golf much more attractive. I prefer regular hatchback sporty car. Regarding the commercial, it’s simple and nice. The song in this VW cabriolet commercial is Days from The Best and Kollektable.

Mercedes Commercial: Guinness World Record.

SLS golfI mentioned the SLS AMG in my previous post “Super Service” that featured Roger Federer. For this commercial, Mercedes has attempted to win the Guinness World Record for the ‘Furthest Golf Shot Caught in a Moving Car.’ Jake Shepherd (professional UK golf player) launched the golf ball from the tee at a speed of 286.46 kmh, and David Coulthard (professional British Formula one driver) made sure it landed in the SLS AMG, 275 metres down the runway. Mercedes were the ones to set the record, there were none before. With this trend of creating a convertible edition of every super car, I think the record is gonna be broken very soon.

Volkswagen commercial: “Crash”

The new 2012 Passat features a 2.5L in-line 5 cylinder engine which delivers 170hp. Personally  I prefer the 2009 version of the Passat I think its prettier. The CC has a very nice look. I am not a big fan of the new face lift of this new model.

I already mentioned the 2012 Passat when it was first introduced with the “The Force” commercial featuring Darth Vader. Contrary to the Darth Vader superbowl ad, I find that this commercial is trying to prove something, that this car is safe. The Passat presents most of its safety features as standards. Which is nothing special when we are talking about VW. I like the simple and original was in which the “safety” aspect of the car is presented.

Toyota Commercial: “Babes ‘N’ Donuts”

Scion IQAfter a long absence due to personal issues, I’m back with a really crazy ad. Introducing the Scion IQ by Toyota. The first question you are probably gonna ask yourself after watching this ad is WTF is this thing?! Well the IQ is a really small city car, actually the smallest four-seater car in the world. This is the competitive advantage that the IQ has over its mini-cars competitors. The aim of this video is mainly to show that this small car actually fits four adults people. They did this by releasing not one but four ads including: “Dudes n’ Donuts,” “Bikers n’ Donuts” and “Police n’ Donuts” ,emphasizing even more the fact that their tiny car fits four people. This weirdness in ads makes me think of the Old Spice Shampoo commercial that was released a few years ago. The ad really created a buzz. Hope the IQ ad will be as successful.

Mercedes-Benz Commercial: “Super Service”

Video

SLS FedererThe introduction of the new SLS 2012 AMG by Roger Federer. That ad sounds a little far-fetched but do like it. The SLS AMG features a 6.2L V8 engine delivering 563hp/ 479lb-ft of torque. I find the roadster edition of the SLS really nice. Mercedes did there best to add the soft top without affecting the performance of the car by adding weight. The result was an add of just 88 pounds to the car’s total weight thanks to the use of very light but strong aluminium in the composition of the convertible mechanism.

The Making Of: “The Dog Strikes Back”

Behind the scenes of “The Dog Strikes Back”, Volkswagen’s 2012 Big Game commercial that i shared on in my previous post. Impressive. That dog is a serious actor!
