Volkswagen commercial: Are you GTI Enough?

GTI 35 special editionFor those of you who missed it, this is the commercial of the VW Golf GTI VI 35 anniversary edition. This special edition of the already amazing GTI has still the standard 2.0 liters V4 turbocharged engine but the German engineers were able to squeeze out of it 235hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. This is an augmentation of almost 10% compared to the stock GTI’s power. Not a crazy increase but it is nice to have. The 35 edition has several limited edition “35” badges here and there like on the door sill plates, the steering wheel and seats. This limited edition features a “half golf ball” as a gearlever that pays homage to the stickshift of the original 1976 GTI. This commercial that was released for the launching of the 35 edition GTI is just stunning. The driving sensations the car delivers are so well advertised and represented. This is one gorgeous car commercial just pure car/human interaction. I am still waiting patiently to see how the new special edition GTI VII will look like. Knowing that the stock GTI VII can be bought with a special racing package delivering 230hp, a special edition version will have at least 30 additional hp. Looking forward.

Mercedes Commercial: The SLS AMG Black Series

After launching the SLS AMG 45th Anniversary edition a couple of weeks a go, Benz are  announcing the SLS we were all waiting for, the Black Series edition. Eight month after the C63 Black edition, an SLS was a must. This new version of the famous SLS is not only road friendlier but also faster and lighter than the SLS GT. Does it have a screaming, shouting, ear fu**ing V8 combined with a whooping exhaust? Most probably. But this time the famous 6.2 V8 has been squeezed and now delivers 622hp and 634 lb-ft. The weight saving has been achieved thanks to the installation of light weight ceramic brakes, and lots of CRFP (Carbon fiber reinforced polymers) made parts here and there. The end result is a Black Edition 70kgs lighter than the previous SLS GT. I really like the fact that this Benz includes a lot of features from the 45th anniversary edition while being a derivable comfortable car that you can take on a spin around the track on Sundays. The Solar Beam paint is very similar to the Electric Yellow of the MINI models. I really liked the color but I think that, as all Black Edition models, this SLS should definitively be featured in white. The ad by itself is nothing special, the intention of Mercedes was just to show there new creation to the world; just show it not listen to it.

Mercedes Commercial: SLS AMG GT3 “45th Anniversary”

sls exteriorA few days ago Mercedes revealed its all brand new SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary edition model. I just love the “anniversary editions” sports cars they always have amazing features. Most of the times, the features added to the car transforms it into a collection car, not a “better to drive version” of the production model. This SLS AMG GT3 is a perfect example. Would you be able to drive this version of the SLS in your every days life? I dough it. For this 45th anniversary, the AMG team worked on a race edition of the SLS model. They mostly developed the aerodynamics. This edition is much lighter than the road version. It features a huge rear spoiler, a roll cage and other aerodynamic parts.

The interior is completely optimized to minimize weight. A big number of the luxury features have been replaced by carbon fiber race like buttons. Only 5 of these monsters will be build. They will be completely hand made and delivered by the AMG team directly to the lucky customers. Regarding the engine, the SLS GT3 will feature the normal 6.3 liters V8 that is available in the SLS AMG model.

BMW Commercial: London 2012

M5 sandBMW have always had astonishing commercials. Recall the “Bullet Commercial” that was released less than a month ago. It was amazing, to advertise their M5 as the fastest sedan available they compared it to the Bullet of a gun. The M5 features an amazing V8 Twin turbo charged engine that was already discussed on TheAdsGarage. For the Olympics, BMW found as usual a nice idea to promote the German athletes while showing their last new born, the magnificent M5. The commercial was shot on the sands of Wales. Several episodes of top gear were filmed on their. The beach is amazing for car drifting. This commercial is simple, original and straight to the point. Enjoy! To check the previous M5 commercials you can type “M5” in the search box at the top of the page.

Fiat Commercial: Immigrants

500 usaI mentioned several times the Fiat 500 on TheAdsGarage. You can check the reviews by typing “Fiat” in the search space that appears at the right top of the page. With this new commercial, Fiat is announcing there US Fiat 500 range: the Fiat 500, 500c Cabrio and the 500 Abarth. The way the idea of “immigration” is developed in the commercial is very original and unexpected. Regarding the grey 500 that appears at 0:48, reliable sources said that it could be the New Fiat 500T that is a range of 500 that is in between the regular 500 and the Abarth version. Apparently it will feature a 1.4 liters 130hp engine. Its going to have a sporty look. I’ll keep an eye on this 500T and let you know if it is gonna be produced or not. By the way, don’t worry no Fiat were harmed in the making of this video.

Volkswagen Commercial: The Cabrio.

Remember how the cars you had the most fun in never had a roof? This is the new commercial for the 2012 Golf Cabriolet. It’s just a golf but with no roof on. It’s going to feature the same engine range as the normal golf going from the 1.4 turbo to the GTI 2.0 Turbocharged engine that delivers 211hp. I didn’t really like this new idea of golf with no roof. I find the original golf much more attractive. I prefer regular hatchback sporty car. Regarding the commercial, it’s simple and nice. The song in this VW cabriolet commercial is Days from The Best and Kollektable.

Mini Commercial: British National Anthem

Mini commercial orchestraWith the Olympics starting at the end of this month in London, MINI released this commercial promoting its special edition MINI London 2012 models. These special models will feature a unique set 17-inch alloy wheels and will be available in three colors, Chilli Red, White Silver and Lightning Blue. The MINI was born in Britain and, even though it has German owners now, I think it will always remain a British car.

Subaru Commercial: Scorched

This is one whooping commercial! This ad by Subaru is filmed in a melting garage due to an unknown source of heat. The effects filmed at 2000 fps using Phantom technology at the beginning of the video are just amazing. I already discussed the BRZ in my previous post “Your Story With”. This car is the result of the combined work of two big car companies Toyota and Subaru. I find their outcome really special and amazing. The car has very special and unique features like a very low center of gravity, light weight and a descent design.

Renault Commercial: Alpine 50th Anniversary.

AlpinaIntroducing the Alpine A110-50, a concept car by Renault that has been created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Renault Alpine A110 ”Berlinette”. The concept car features a 3.5litre V6 mid-rear engine that delivers 400hp. This engine is associated with a beautifully designed roof mounted-intake that funnels the air directly into the machine’s carbon-fiber intake. Add to that a custom exhaust and a F1 semi sequential 6 speed dual clutch gear box and this is what you get, a flame-throwing 50th anniversary Blue Alpina concept car.The driver in the commercial is Jean Ragnotti, an old time racing driver for Renault. The idea in the video is that he is racing against his younger self in the younger Alpina A110.

You might be asking yourself but when are we gonna see one of those cruising on the Champs Elysee, well until know never. Renault still hasn’t talked about producing this car.

BMW Commercial: Bullet

BMW M5Introducing the BMW M5 2012. Before commenting on this mind blowing ad, let’s focus on car. The M5 is the new sedan by BMW. It features a 4.4 twin turbo charged V8 that delivers 560 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. This new twin turbo charging system is the new born of BMW. It is featured in the M5 and the one series. Its advantage is that it allows the car to have a smaller engine, higher performance and lesser fuel consumption. Combined with a dual clutch 7 speed gear box, this is what you get, a “Bullet” with four wheel drive.

This ad is really amazing it reminds me of the “Bullet effects in Slow motion” video that went viral on youtube a couple of years ago. The same concept is applied here: A “bullet” (M5) is launched from the barrel of a gun (the tunnel at the start of the video) and its passage through different obstacles is filmed in slow motion. The ad was done in Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats Speedway. The idea and the car are just gorgeous. With this ad BMW Canada are marketing this M5 as the fastest sedan on earth.
